Meet Jessica.

The owner and founder behind Milestones.

Hi. I’m Jess.

I’m a Mum of 3, Wife to a bearded-bike-loving man; Pilates enthusiast; closet stage queen; movement analyser; passionate supporter and advocate of play-based learning, getting back-to-basics and simplifying parenting and senior physiotherapist.

It may seem like a mouthful. But it’s ‘me’ in a nutshell. Hopefully I have the opportunity to connect with you further and find out about all the little things that make you, YOU (and beyond).

My journey into Physiotherapy.

The bloom of Milestones…

When I moved to Central Queensland and saw first-hand the barriers to accessing quality and specialist healthcare, I found myself wanting to build and bring to life a space to nurture the families here.

So I set to work to provide a much-needed Family Focused health service …

Which ultimately led to the bloom of Milestones.

We’re not just a paediatric and women’s health-focussed allied health clinic. We go beyond that.

We’re a boutique clinic and concept store, that offer families an array of services and products that nurture, guide and support them, through all of life’s important Milestones.

My passion and thirst for knowledge and the most up-to-date information and evidence based therapy has me attending multiple courses a year. The list below is not exhaustive of all the training – but a brief summary of some of the more extensive post-graduate training I have attended.  I also enjoy training and educating, not only parents, but also teachers, support staff, childcare workers and our next generation of physiotherapists and therefore, have presented at education evenings, Clinical Society meetings, at child care centres, staff training days at local schools, supervised university students and mentored junior physiotherapists.

Perinatal care: Pregnancy. Birth. Baby. And beyond.

It is essential to me that we place emphasis on nurturing the journey of a women’s health pre and post birth. I have found that so often women are left to take care of themselves post-birth, which is a time where they need equal care.

At Milestones, I wanted to make a conscious effort to include all stages of the pregnancy and post natal journey, in our client’s time with us,  in particular the Perinatal Period – the 4th trimester. We offer a pelvic floor assessment and rehabilitation and gradual return to exercise treatment and advice as services we offer as part of your care.

Paediatric Care: Family focused, goal oriented, play based therapy.

Helping children achieve Milestones in life, whether it be rolling, crawling, sitting independently or walking, jumping or catching a ball, is why I chose to pursue a role as a paediatric physiotherapist. Whether it be typical or atypical development, we all have goals to achieve and I endeavour to help facilitate the achievement of these skills. Each session is pre-planed with functional goals as the basis for therapy, but always ensuring the sessions are filled with fun and laughter.

What sets us apart?

At Milestones, we create programs that are unique to US and the needs of the community. As a result we offer;

  • “Setting the Foundation” Mums and Bubs post-partum appointment
    • This includes a post-partum check for Mum and also an early developmental check for Bub – including hip check, neuro screen and developmental assessment. We aim to be proactive and provide programs to facilitate development for Bub and nurture post-partum for Mum, taking into account everyone has different goals – whether that being returning to high impact or even a stroll along the beach.
  • “Meeting YOUR Milestones” – 6 week play and education series for Mums and their babies. We Learn, Play and Grow together, with each week providing a theme specific to post-partum and includes sessions from Social Worker Jen Harris – Relationship Bootcamp and Speech Pathologist Tegan Stocker.
  • “Mindful Movement” – teen and pre-teen Pilates, Mindfulness and Meditation classes.
  • “Playful Pathways” – Tummy Time, Pre-Crawlers and Crawlers Developmental Playgroups
  • “Sporty Sprouts” – coordination and sporting basics for kiddos who need a little more support before joining sporting clubs.

We take care of your health and wellness needs and genuinely create an environment where you and your family feel safe and nurtured – all while going above and beyond to add a touch of Milestones magic to your time with us. Why? Because we believe your healthcare practitioner should always aim to get to know the real YOU, challenge you, delve deeper, research, problem solve, have fun, refer on if required and most importantly, support you and your family through all of life’s important Milestones.

“Play is the brains favourite way of learning”
